Kate Beagan is Ireland's foremost leading landscape artist. Born in County Monaghan Kate chooses oil as her medium. This series of paintings depicts the Irish landscape in and around the Carlingford Slieve Guillion area
Kate finds the challenge of converting the transient Irish light onto the landscape and then conveying this light and subject onto canvas compelling. We love how the yellow rapeseed field highlights the whole painting, in contrast with the dark textured bold brush strokes of clump of trees becoming a very peaceful landscape scene by Kate.
The canvas itself measures 30x30 cms and is beautifully framed by Kate's husband Kevin in a white wooden frame
